I greatly enjoyed Enders Game and all of the sequels. Drister made a wonderful point--"The sequels lead wonderful insight into the minds of both ender and bean, as well as some of the other characters who were hardly touched on in the original work"--the sequels let one get into the other character minds; and in my opinion does not diminish Enders Game, but enhances it. That being said there is a substantial difference between Enders game and the sequels, something I can't identify but is there. Sometimes I find it easier to think of Enders Game as set somewhat apart from all the rest, more of an onlooker.

I think that Ender's Game is quite possibly the best science fiction novel out. It is extremely deep, and when you read it, you get a satisfied feeling from it. It's also a great book to think about and really analyze. I haven't read the sequels, I too thought that they would undermine the first book; however, I have read Ender's Shadow I thought that it was amazing, and gave extra insight to the characters and general plot of the story.
