Hello friends, I have just received this in an email.. It says it was nominated in the best poem category.. no where about about it, here it goes...

Quote:
Dear White fella............ Couple of things you should know.....

When
I born, I Black,
When I grow up, I Black,
When I go in Sun, I Black,
When I scared, I Black,
When I sick, I Black,
And when I die, I still black.......

And you White fella,
When you born, you Pink,
When you grow up, you White,
When you go in Sun, you Red,
When you cold, you Blue,
When you scared, you Yellow,
When you sick, you Green,
And when you die, you Gray.................

And you calling me Colored ???????????

Makes you wonder now.. who is coloured ....

nice poem
really makes you think. however, it's kinda racist against white people.I guess it's the african-american way of fighting back the generations of racism put onto them

Hi, Yes I've heard that before in SA.

Here's another story you might enjoy.
This comes from the trial of Steve Biko. During the trial the Judge asked Steve Biko why the blacks were called black when, in actual fact, they were more brown than black. Steve Biko replied by asking why whites called themselves white when they were more light brown...

I don't really think that that poem is racist at all... it is not saying that the fact that white ppl turn lots of different colors is bad.. just stating a fact...
But i really like it in any case

It sounds like he's trying to get back at people that are racist against African-Americans, it also sounds like a joke or something.
