after reading Tolkien's LOTR i felt nothing would ever be able to defeat it in the genre of fantasy but...
Wheel of Time is sure giving it a run for its money

im currently reading the 5th of the now 11 book series (each averaging about 700-1000 pages) and am enjoying every chapter. as much as i no how impossible it can be to compare anything to LOTR i suggest giving it a try

Currently I am working on starting the third book to the series. You are right, it seems like The Wheel of Time is giving Lord of the Rings a run for it's money. I find it very interesting, especially some of it's theories. The quotes on the other hand are awesome. My favorite one is:

Be carefull sister not to dabble your feet where there are things to bite you.

Tootles,
Raven
