It's the only Shakespeare play I've ever read so this probably isn't much help.
People tell me Romeo and Juliet is a must read though. Everyone knows the basics. Tragic lovers with warring parents. Both lovers die. It's very sad.

I just read Romeo and Juliet and I HATED it. That's probably because Romeo's impulsiveness and melodrama annoy me to no end!
My favorite Shakespeare play is deffinitely Much Ado About Nothing. I LOVE the whole Benedick/Beatrice thing!
