I just finished the new book by Orson Scott Card ,Shadow of the Giant and it led me to remeber how much I love the whole Enders Game series. Enders Game and Enders Shadow are possibly the most influential books in my life (of course I am 15 and it appeals to me more than it would to more elderly person). What I would like to know though is this.
Does anyone know of any books like Enders Game or influenced by Enders Game or even better, a book that influenced Enders Game. If so please tell me the titles of these books.

I think the 'Foundation' trilogy by Isaac Asimov influenced Orson Scott Card to write 'Ender's Game'. I haven't read Foundation but from what i've heard it's pretty good..

I don't know whether or not the Foundation books influenced Ender's Game, but they are definately worth reading. And I do know that Orson Scott Card wrote a short story based in the world of Asimov's Foundation novels, so Card did read them.

They did not really influence him to write them. In the newest edition of Enders Game in the preface he talks about how thinking about how people would train to defend a planet is what inspired him to write this book. He wrote it as a short story as a teen and then later turned it into the book that it is today. He does mention the Foundation trilogy and its relation to The Decline and Fall of Rome though but just not as a influence.
