Road Not Takan by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
well first af all i would like to say that i really like this poem it's so meaningful...
now i'm entering college and i have to decide which subject i wish to take
well.. it hard alright ..
it between IT and medicine .. so what do you think

Given the poem: Well medicine is less popular so go for that.

I'd say follow your heart. In either case you've got years of hard work ahead of you, and that's just college. I'd choose whatever you're passionate about, even if it's Ornamental Horticulture.
I would also accept and plan for the possibility that you might change your mind in a year, or in four. Passions and interests change, and you'll be happier if you don't confine yourself to one path for life.
One of my favorite poems, incidentally.

hey admin, and other ppl,
i luuuurve this poem too.
better than 'stopping by the woods' and 'mending wall'
i think all those are mediocre when compared to the eloquence he stirs up in your brain with his trippy lil rhyme.
apparently, he was referring to his friend when he wrote this poem.
every time i read the poem, there's some sort of energy infused in me and i begin to think, gravely - even if just a minute ago, i didn't have anything to think about.

Beautiful poem.
As far as college, do both. Then be a IT doctor and rule the world--or at least a really interesting database.
