There is a book that my English teacher read in fifth grade, but she can't remember the title or the author. She says it is about two boys who run away from home. One of them gets a job, and he tells the other that he will split his income with him. The boy really gets paid fifty dollars, but he tells his friend that he gets ten, and gives him five, planning to surprise his friend with the extra money when they reach their destination. The one who is hiding money stores it in his rolled up pant leg. One day the other boy plans to leave, grabs the boys pants, and the money falls out. That's all she can remember, and we have a bet to see who can find the title of the book first. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Sarah
