Don't aim for new members only, there are old members too who might not have heard or read the stuff. Well I heard about him for the first time and a fact I'm a New Member too.
Thanks for posting and I hope I do enjoy reading the books.
I recently rented the DVD of The Tailor of Panama without knowing that it was a book by John le Carre. I very highly recommend this movie, and it is on my list of books to read some day.

One author of the spy genre that is consistently good is Ken Follett. Over the years his books have been well written, suspenseful yarns. One of my favorites was Pillars of the Earth where he digressed from his usual spy novels and wrote a good tale that takes place in medieval times. Many of his books have been made into films.
