In Platos "The Apology" What is the main point Socrates made by telling the story about the oracle of Delphi?

Here is the Link to Plato's The Apology

Well after reading it and then reading it over again. I would say that I think the main point of his refrence to the Delphi is him saying that he belives he is being persecuted for being a wisemen and proving others whom think themselves wise, to really be fools. I think it is a sort of mokery of the court.
