Hello, I'm Shadow's Echo... and well, if you hadn't guessed I'm new here.

Now, to get to the topic of this post... what do you think of fanfiction?

Cheap stories for those who lack imagination or not?

Personally I like fanfiction because it brings me to see things that COULD have happened and it's interesting to see what other people see.

Of course, I'm just a young teen so... it may be just because I'm youthful that I actually like this but, I think that there are some fanfictions that are well written and worth reading. There is ONE downside to well written fanfictions most often they aren'T finished... oh how I hate that... but can't do much except to review in hopes that they'll continue with their story.

Well, here's an example of a well written fanfiction:
Destiny's Choice


The cold water hit her like a thousand bees stinging all at once. Quickly, she moved up to the surface, gasping for air while swimming toward the bank. A cold chill took over her body but, she continued, silently cursing. Her feet touched the soft sand, letting her walk up. The thin white material pressed against her skin all at once, showing the soft pink underneither, becoming completely see-through. She looked up at the sound of shots firing. One of the cars seemed to be going straight for the edge of the cliff. She started walking faster even though she felt so weighted down. The knee-high water felt like glue, trying to hold her back...

what exactly is fanfiction?

lab11198: Okay to answer your question a fanfiction is simply a fictive story/poem about a popular book, tv show, movie ect written be a fan. (thus "Fan"fiction) It's basically taking the characters of a tv show or whatever then writing your own story with them. The concept may seem unoriginal but the stories that I have read are a lot more original then you would expect. (Like the one mentioned above. If you know the serie Sailor Moon (age doesn't matter when it comes to fanfiction. I've read some written by people as old as 20 years old !)then I suggest you read it. The characters are OOC (term used to say Out Of Character) but it's rather well written.Most importantly it's not as babish as you think. Some fanfiction are R rated and have m,ature themes such as: rape abuse etc. The appropriate rating and warning are of course given so you don't have to fear reading something that exices your matuirity level.) I hope that you read the story and well I hope this answers your question.

Another great fanfiction site (though this one has fanart too.Fanart is the same thing as fanfictions only it's fan drawings instead of stories.) is www.mediaminer.org .
That site though is mostly about animes/manga (japanese cartoons and books) though.
Actually finding fanfictions are pretty easy most fansites have a page dedicated to fanstuff. (There are A LOT of fanthings out there just have to look for it!) The best one so far though is www.fanfiction.net .That one has EVERYTHING. Or almost anyways. Tv shows, movies,book everything. I'm sure there are more fanfiction dedicated sites outhere BUT I haven't found them yet.
