I am looking quotes relating to rock and mountain climbing – you know the ‘because its there’ type stuff.
Thanks in advance.

Did a climber die here? Quotations come to mind:
Edward Whymper:- "Do nothing in haste; look well to each step; and from the beginning, think what may be the end." ***
Natahala Outdoor Center climbing instructor:- "Climbing is more a mind thing than a strength thing." She added " Argue for your limitations and, sure enough, they are yours."
"Summit or death, either way I win."
-Rob Slater, before perishing on K2.

This topic belongs in Quotations talk unless you are discussing quotes that are specifically from literature. Try reading Into Thin Air.

There's a 'young adult' book out called Climb or Die... I'm not sure if there's any GOOD quotes in there per se... after all, I vaguely recall the story being something along the lines of two children up in the mountains, but you might find something there... although it's been ages since I read that book last!
