The Reeve's Tale in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales - a Miller cheats with corn and underweight loaves and gets cheated on by his wife and daughter
Chocolat by Joanne Harris - definitely explores the sensual effects of chocolate, is a very good story and I highly recommend the film of the same name.
There's a very lightweight but fun recent novel called The Food of Love by Anthony Capella where both feature prominently and are intertwined.
Perhaps check out Decameron and the original Arabian Nights , I think there's the classic lost ring found in the cooked fish story in the last, but I can't remember actual food stories, you may be lucky
Also Paris and the Golden Apple springs to mind.
