If YOU decided to publish a collection of quotations then how would YOU title the collection?

What's wrong with
Anthology of Popular Wisdom
Has it been taken?
I just ran it through Google, and the only hit I got was this thread, so it appears to be available. I think it has a ring to it. I like it.

I would call mine Life Itself after the quote by Jorge Luis Borges.
"Life itself is a quotation."

I've actually been thinking of writing some quotation books, but I don't have a good title yet.
I do have a good title for a mystery novel, though: "A Succession of Ordinary Days," after this quotation:
Quote: A man can stand anything except a succession of ordinary days. -- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832)
Now I just have to figure out what the book would be about.

That IS a great title, mgm, and excellent quotation to preface a mystery novel.
I'm always a little afraid to share an idea like that on the Internet, in fear someone will develop it and publish it while I dawdle, thinking about writing more than actually writing.

Anthology of Popular Wisdom
By Phantom Delta
Forword by Thenostromo
I'll get Luna to write the raving reviews.
Last year Theno suggested that I title my collection of turkey tales as Turkey Soup for the Soul. I like the idea but I couldn't cotton to an idea that was not original. I have titled it as The Ghost of Dawn but I need more stories to complete it.

And those reviews probably would be "raving," too -- one might even say "Luna-tical."
My vote is for Theno's "Turkey Soup for the Soul." (Excellent play on words, thenostromo.) People will instantly recognize the wry play on the inspirational "Chicken Soup" series. (You might want to seek legal consultation on whether you need to ask permission or say something like "with apologies to" -- whatever the acceptable protocol is when playing on another author's title.)
"Ghost of Dawn" suggests a ghost story or mystery rather than an collection of tall turkey tales. Best to work with the conventions of the genre, so that potential readers recognize intuitively the general idea or theme of a book.
Coming up with a good title may well be the hardest part of writing anything. It's THE thing that has to attract a reader -- the "bait," to use Phantom Delta vernacular.

I dunno, Anthology of popular wisdom does sound cool, i just think you would probably need a title that would intrigue to all persons, of all ages.
My personal one would probably be
"We too are stardust" - Sophie's World

Turkey Soup for the Soul would certainly garner more exposure than The Ghost of Dawn. The original idea was to title it as, The Ghosts of Dawn (the memories of the those wild turks that have gone on to roost at that great roosting ground in the sky). I acutally named a trout, The Ghost of Dawn. It is up there on my wall with Herman the German and Premonition. The bas is named Little Memphis.
I have already talked to some knowledgable people about copyright laws. The publisher will probably suggest the most productive title for the collection.

I really like the title idea. It sounds really catchy and I think that lots of people would pick it up and read it. Plus it would be a good book.
