Well I think the way in which it says "Wishing for what is not"

It is in a way saying you should not spend your time dwelling in the past or woring about things you cannot now go back in change. It can only lead to misery if try to undo the things already done.

Instead you should be looking to the future, and concered with "what is" or "What could be" instead of what can never be.

What do you think of this quote from Brian Ruckley. "It's unwise to dance with wishes unless you've the mettle for it. Wishing for what is not is a fast way to poison your heart." Also can you tell me what you think it means as well please. Thanks.

I dance with all my available wishes, that's why we have the chemistry to be the best dancers ever.

It's true that clinging to far wishes could ache and poison the heart, gradually. Better we cling to a reasonable insight and balanced fortelling clues.

God will always answer prayers for wishes...

whether in this or the next life is known only to God

sometimes answered prayers delay spiritual growth

don't ignore the part where the author says "unless you have the metal for it". Great people dream big. They DO dwell on these incredible "wishes". For them, it is acceptable, because even though their goals are so far out of reach for most, they still manage to grasp them,
