For a school project I must answer the question of how anticipation is what makes us human. I have to present my case for 20 minutes to a panel of judges, and desperatly need any ideas you may have, movies, quotes, ideas, anything!!! :!: Thank you so much for any help you can give me![/b]

"Our thinking and our behaviour are always in anticipation of a response. It is therefore fear-based."
~Deepak Chopra

Life is a NOW experience. Too many people let their heart and spirit die in anticipation of death.
~ Rob Kall

"The reason why most people face the future with apprehension instead of anticipation is because they don't have it well designed."
– Jim Rohn

"An intense anticipation itself transforms possibility into reality; our desires being often but precursors of the things which we are capable of performing."
-- Samuel Smiles (1812-1904), Self Help -1859

People leading meaningless, boring, ordinary lives, often look with the eager anticipation toward imaginary apocalyptic events as their last opportunity to take part, even as the passive subjects only, in something significant and extraordinary.

There are five phases in a recreational experience.

Anticipation, Travel To, The Event, Travel From, Recollection
(This is known as a linear exerience or a linear transition.)

Anticipation is only one fifth of the the experience. To state that anticipation is what makes us human is not necessairly a strong premise. I would even say anticipation is an incidental. When you finish this project I would very much like to read the transcript. (Thank you.) There are no quotations on the subject of anticipation in the Pocket Book of Quotations. Good Luck and May the Force be with You!

How about Carly Simon's way cool "Anticipation"? Obvious, I know, but way cool nonetheless:

We can never know about the days to come
But we think about them anyway
And I wonder if I'm really with you now
Or just chasing after some finer day

Anticipation, anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting

And I tell you how easy it is to be with you
And how right your arms feel around me
But I rehearsed those words just late last night
When I was thinking about how right tonight might be

Anticipation, anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting

And tomorrow we might not be together
I'm no prophet, I don't know nature's way
So I'll try to see into your eyes right now
And stay right here, 'cause these are the good old days

Definately something Jesus said about anticpation only leads to worrying, and worrying is a waste of time.
