What quotes do you have from these two books related to government? here are a few to start the list. Just add to it if you have any. Please include page numbers AND/OR section of book.

(My page numbers reffer to the penguin classics publication of "Walden and Civil Disobedience")

1. I heartily accep the motto,--"That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. (Civil Disobedience 385)

2. ...there are cotinents and seas in the moral world, to which every man is an isthmus or an inlet, yet unexplored by him, but that it is easier to sail many thousand miles through cold and storm and cannibals, in a government ship, with five hundred men and boys, to assist one, that it is to explore the private sea, the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean of one's being alone. (Conclusion 370)

3.
