This may not be what you're asking, but here's what to do if you want to put a Quotes of the Day icon (shortcut) on your desktop. Go to the Quotes of the Day page. Right click and select "Create Shortcut" from the menu, and the shortcut icon to Quotes of the Day will appear on your desktop.

Are you asking about Active Desktop? If so, the regular Quotes of the Day URL should work. Or tell me exactly what you're talking about.

I'm talking about getting the QOTD to display each day's quotes on the desktop....sorta like if a user adds the QOTD code to his/her web page.

With Windows 98, you should be able to add Quotes of the Day as an "Active Desktop" item with these steps:

Click "Start," point to "Settings," click "Control Panel," and then double-click "Display." Click the "Web" tab, and then click "New."

You'll be asked if you want to use an Active Desktop item from the Desktop Component Gallery on Microsoft's Web site. Click "No," then type the URL for the Quotes of the Day page.

Right, that works for me in Windows 2000 as well. You can also create a custom HTML document using our "use our quotes" feature that includes the Quotes of the Day via JavaScript. That way you don't have to have our navigation bar, banner ads, etc. on the desktop.
