Newbie here so hope I'm in the right forum and that someone will be able to help me.

Can someone please explain the quote "One crowded hour of glorious life is worth an age without a name"

I'm guessing it means it's better to pack a lot in to a short time than to live forever without doing anything but I don't get the "without a name" bit.

Ok since your a beginner i am going to start from scratch. For some words there are more than one meaning. One of crowded meaning is to fill completely. One of glorious meaning is excellent and splendidly beautiful. One of age meaning is a particular stage in life. One of hour meaning is moment. One of name meaning is reputation. Now place all the meanings back into the sentence. You will get: 'One completely filled moment of excellent and splendidly beautiful life is worth a stage in life without reputation.' Now that stage in life without reputation is a stage that is pure and true. Reputation has to do with other people and things that pollute your life. Ok now i am going to interpret it in my words. "A moment filled with splendid beauty is as valueable as a whole new world that has not been seen or touched... Hope you understand if you dont let me know and i will explain it more. I am a writer and thats what writers do so feel free to say you dont understand and feel free to also as me more questions.
