Hi everybody,

Here is the translation in French of something D. Hume said: "Laissez les Français tirer vanité de l'expansion actuelle de leur langue. Nos établissements d'Amérique, solides et en pleine croissance, promettent à la langue anglaise une stabilité et une durée supérieure".

"Let the French take pride in the present expension of their language. Our trading estates in America, strong and constantly growing, are a good promise that the English language will be more stable and last longer".

Could someone help me find the exact quotation of this visionary thought?

TIA
