I need a quote for the following situation:

I had sex with a friend of mine (we are really close) but we aren't together...in fact we were both drunk when we did it...I need a quote that would kinda neutralize the atmosphere in the relationship (its kinda tense)..We both want to remain 'just friends'....I came accross a quote that said something about sex always looming in the atmosphere of friendship..But i cant seem to find it again, this quote would be perfect...does anyone know the quote? or any other that might be appropiate?...would really appreciate help

Throwing a quote at her won't fix the situation. You say you are close friends, and you want to stay that way, right? I say...why? The difference between a girl friend and best friend is basically this - you get to have sex with your girl friend. She's obviously willing to sleep with you, and you seem to care enough about her to ask a bunch of people online about the best way to not hurt her feelings. I say go with it. BUT I know thats not the help you wanted, so I'll include a play by play of how to get her back to the "friend zone"

1) Take 100% of the blame. Even if there is no blame to be had, invent some. Whatever happened, it was your fault. even if she drugged you and you had no idea what was going on. Find a way to make it your fault. Then apologize.

2) Tell her exactly what you want. You want her to be you're friend. Explain that the reason you do not want to get involved in a romantic relationship is simply that the two of you are already such good friends, it just gets a little awkward.

3) At this point she will start to feel alienated, like you don't like her at all any more. After all, the oldest quote here is "...but can we still be friends?" The answer of course is always no, and the person who asks always KNOWS that the answer is no. its just a way to avoid guilt. Make it a point to call her to hang out. Make her pay her own way.

4) If she can't take no for an answer, start dating other girls. Call an escort agency if nessisary. Just make it clear that you are not thinking of her in that way

5) I probably should have put this at #1, but don't have sex with her again (unless she's cool with that whole "friends with benefits" thing)

If all else fails, tell her she needs to get checked for some kind of STD because you just found out you had it, and she was the last person you slept with. If you really are close friends, she will "dump" you, but not abandon you. If she still pursues a romantic relationship, WITH the std warning, she is in love with you. If you do not feel the same. RUN!
