The Quotations Page attributes the quote "In love, one and one equals one" to Jean Paul Sartre. I have tried unsuccessfully to verify the source. It is quite similar to a Mignon McLaughlin quote:
"In the arithmetic of love, one plus one equals everything, and two minus one equals nothing."
I'm wondering if the Sartre attribution is correct for the the simpler version. Does anyone know?
