The response from Phaedrus appears to be accurate to that exact wording of the quotation. Also seen as "...the end of desire"...
Here's some more:
I am no longer sure of anything. If I satiate my desires, I sin but I deliver myself from them; if I refuse to satisfy them, they infect the whole soul.
~ Jean-Paul Sartre
From the satisfaction of desire there may arise accompanying joy and, as it were sheltering behind it, something not unlike despair.
~ Andre Gide
Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for these desires exists. A baby feels hunger; well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim; well, there is such a thing as water. Men feel sexual desire; well, there is such a thing as sex. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.
~ C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity)
Young people are threatened... by the evil use of advertising techniques that stimulate the natural inclination to avoid hard work by promising the immediate satisfaction of every desire.
~ Pope John Paul II
"After all, the satisfaction of desires and acting in accordance with my needs are frequently impossible to reconcile."
