Best is credited for the following variation:
"I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered."
But, I think, like I often have, he just stole it. In other words, I think the originator was a LOT further back than George Best, although after a bit of research, I have to say that I admire his attitude towards living the "celebrity lifestyle".......
