Please forgive the intrusion as I am new to this site. I always thought the quotation "Living well is the best revenge" was taken from F.Scott Fitzgerald's, "The Great Gatsby", but this site's link states it is a George Herbert quotation. Did Fitgerald actually use it, or have I been misinformed? Thanks for any help you provide. kj howe

"Living well is the best revenge."~It appeared in George Herbert's Jacula Prudentum, No. 526 (1593-1633)

Apparently Fitzgerald borrowed it as well as others.
