I've heard an expression that suggests you start out a relationship in the way you would like it to continue - ie don't do everything for the guy unless you want to keep on doing everything for the guy...any idea of the correct expression and its origin?

dont know anything about where did the expression originate but it means that when you begin something you are the most enthu one but with time it disappears so only begin if you want5 t6o continue the same way...
