I was reading a page on chinese technology and found this quote. It might have been Mencius who said it because only a few lines up his neam was mentionned but I haven't found his name and this quote together.Help me out please.


"When Heaven sends down calamities,
There is hope of weathering them;
When man brings them upon himself,
There is no hope of escape.''
