I'm new to the site. I've enojoyed spending time here. The reason I ran into this site was that I was looking for the author of the subject quote listed above. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Gestalt Theory

In Gestalt theory and therapy, the fundamental "formula" of Gestalt might be expressed in this way: There are wholes, the behavior of which is not determined by that of their individual elements, but where the part-processes are themselves determined by the intrinsic nature of the whole. It is the hope of Gestalt theory to determine the nature of such wholes.

I believe Max Wertheimer was its biggest proponent.
