With the help of a very kind person on the NY Public Library phone research line I discovered that "Nutsey Fagan" was a popular song of 1923.

"Nutsey Fagan, Nutsey Fagan, you're the guy for me!"

When I found out who wrote it, and where I can get the sheet music, you'll be the first to know. Hell, make an appointment and I'll sing it for you.

I just realized that the link goes there anyway, so the point is probably moot.

I called the NYPL music collection, and as often happens there, I learned that their copy couldn't be found. They suggested I come in and go through the uncatalogued materials. Yuh.


So then I went to the website you found, The Museum of American History in Washington, and asked if they could fax or pdf me a copy of the song. They said they'd get back to me, and now I'm waiting. I'll post the response when I get it.
