Last week, I went to Philidelphia, but it was closed.
W. C. Fields (1880 - 1946)

Is that anywhere near Philadelphia?

And they don't call me that for nothing.

Might as well give it a source while we're at it:

~W. C. Fields, in Richard J. Anobile - "Godfrey Daniels"

That source deserves a little explanation.

“Godfrey Daniels!” is the euphemistic expletive (a 'polite curse') favored by W. C. Fields
http://www.imagesjournal.com/issue10/re ... s/text.htm

This source mentioned is a book:

Godfrey Daniels! : verbal and visual gems from the short films of W. C. Fields
edited by Richard J. Anobile ; introducted by Raymond Rohauer.
New York : Darien House, c1975.
http://showcase.netins.net/web/reading/fields.html

So now I'm wondering. That seems to imply the line is from one of his "short films," and if that is so, I wonder which one it is.
