The author quoted wasn't a "psychologist".
Above all he was a "Medical Doctor" in Vienna and was precisely a "Professor in Neuropathology" and the common practice in the beginnig was as a neurologist.
After the start of his office activity linked to an austrian GP Dr. Breuer, he created a new profession called "psychoanalyst" that is been still practising by someone,...
To say that Sigmund Freud was a psychologist it's like to say that Thomas Edison was an electrician!!!
I suggest to write: " the father of psychoanalysis", ... I think it's a more proper definition,....

That is absolutely right. I have done a paper in Psychoanalysis and I know how important he is in the respective field. So it will be a disgrace if he is called only as a psychologist after all the things he has done. Good to know that there is someone who share the same thought.

well freud is the man behind the theory of oedipus complex....i suppose ! which is very well depicted in D.H.LAWRENCE'S most of the writing......especially his book Sons and Lovers .

What are the different disciplines of Psychology for those seeking Masters and/or PhDs? I'm a recent graduate and I'm looking to further my education by gaining a higher degree in Psychology. Problem is, I'm not too sure of all the things I can do with a Psychology Masters and/or a Psychology Ph.D., along with the Biology Bachelors I already have.
