I looked at the quotes that are under matt groening and i'm wondering why the quotes from the simpsons are under his name. he created the show but he did not write those quotes. however it would be a difficult task to find the writers of each episode

You've answered your own question... we try to be as accurate as possible, and eventually they'll be corrected, but it is hard to nail down authorship for things like that.
