Greetings from the Forked Deer River~~~~
On 4-19-03 providence blessed me with a fine wild turkey. I have preserved the wing feathers for commemorative quills. Each person who holds the rank of Quote Master is entitled to receive a commemorative wing feather or a tail feather from Thunder Cloud—The Boss of Cobalt Ridge. Please forward mailing address in private message or email.

Whenever in the course of the daily hunt, the red hunter comes upon a scene that is strikingly beautiful or sublime—a black thunder cloud with the rainbow’s glowing arch above the mountain, a white waterfall in the heart of a green gorge, a vast prairie ringed with the blood of red sunset—he pauses for an instant in the attitude of worship.”
--Ohiyesa, Santee Dakota physician

Thuder Cloud was meant to be a tribute to the character and spirit of the bird. Gobblers will sound off when it thunders. (That is how you locate a turkey, sound. You then call to it and hope it gets a hankering to come to you. Since it is the nature of the hen to go to the gobbler, getting a mature gobbler to come to a hen call takes craft, patience and luck.)
I named one of my turks, The Meatless Wonder, that was meant to be funny.
