I write advertising for a living. All day long I sit in front of a computer trying to wring persuasive language out of the resisitant bits and bytes of Microsoft Word.

I start every morning with a visit to the Quotations Page and check out the Quotes of the Day. It charges my battery as nothing else has ever done.

Thank you, Mike.

P.S. Your selections are always good, but today's batch (2/28/03) were particularly on-target for me. Please keep up the good work!

Thanks much! I can sympethise, having spent many unproductive hours staring at a blank MS Word screen myself.

Glad the quotes help. That's basically why this site exists, because I found them inspiring myself long ago...

Considering they're just randomly picked by the computer, it's amazing how often the quotes of the day are right on target for me too.

I join in the praise. Mike's love of quotes shows through his work in maintaining such a thorough and respectable website.
However, I nearly grimaced with pain to see the word "sympathize" as "sympethise."

Actually I grimaced with pain upon seeing it myself - I pride myself on my spelling and have no idea what I was thinking with 'sympethise'. I'm having high-school spelling bee flashbacks right now.

The 'ise' might have been a British spelling. Yeah, that's it. But I have no explanation for the 'eth'.
