I am seriously sick and tired of having to spend five times as long as it takes to post something, to go back and edit it.

What can I do to prevent a sentence like:
It's about Destiny

becoming:
It’s about Destiny

or:
'What would you do' asked Destiny, 'if I told you that tomorrow this island will be completely inundated by an immense tidal wave?'

becoming:
‘What would you do,’ asked Destiny, ‘if I told you that tomorrow this island will be completely inundated by an immense tidal wave?’

Hmmm. I can't seem to duplicate that. What computer and browser are you using? It looks like your browser is trying to send some kind of ``smart quotes'' when you type single quotes and the BB is converting them into HTML entities.

Are you copying and pasting from Word or another word processor?

`this,’ said Destiny, β€˜is a test.’

Hmmm, even with the 'smart quotes' pasted from MS Word above, I didn't get any weirdness. I'll check around and see if anyone else has run into this.

OK, I found a few people talking about this issue here:

http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=7227

...and made a change suggested there that may have fixed it. Can you try again and see?

If that doesn't work and you are pasting content from MS Word, you might try Tools | AutoCorrect | AutoFormat As You Type and turn off the "straight quotes into smart quotes" option.
