I posted a couple of times things that I had come up with as quotable phrases before I realized they didnt take them from the authors. I think thats kind of sad. As long as you're manually going through them anyway, why not submit any quote which is worthwile and not simply based on whether someone is famous.
I guess I've always wanted to be that grandad where the grandkids always say "my grandpappy used to say". That's more or less why I enjoy summing up complex beliefs and ideas that I strive for in short turns of phrase.
anyway, thats just my thought. hehe, too bad I couldn't sum that argument into a quote. wouldn't that be ironic?

I used to answer questions like this with something like this:
"Famous quotations are the topic of this site. There should really be a different site for non-famous quotations, but you'll have to find one."
Now my answer is "Get a weblog."
It's ridiculously easy, and you can publish your words there. Eventually you'll become more popular, and we'll end up quoting you... we have many weblog writers in our authors list already.
