Where is the suggestion box? (I can't seem to find it.) How about a slogan for the Quotations Page Forum? (Just a suggestion.) I thought maybe we could let the regular forum members offer suggestions for a promotional slogan or motto.
I own a tract of land that I named Camp Juniper. It is a 100 acres of rolling hardwoods that is isolated in the wooded ridges of Cedar Grove, Tennessee. The tract inculdes a 7 acre lake that I named Lake Juniper. Since a cedar is not a true cedar (Juniperus virginiana) I elected to name my land after the Juniper. The land is managed for timber, wildlife and recreation. Almost all the work is done by hand and I promote the muscle powered activites (hiking, canoeing & primitive camping). I don't allow motorized boats on the lake or ATV's on the land. (Row your own boat and pull your own load.) My motto is "Do it the hard way or don't do it at all!"

And think they grow immortal as they quote.

Welcome to the Quotations Fourm. "We aim to please--would you please aim to?"

If you can't find it here; it ain't been said!

This thread is making me miss the "quote about quotations" that I had rotating on the main page a while back. I think I'll bring it back.

I don't remember the "quote about quotations" that was rotating awhile back. Would you like some quotes about quotations? I suppose that is a dumb question because you probably have seen them all!
I'll think about your other post requesting feedback and suggestions later.
It's funny, just yesterday I had the thought to post something to the effect about trying to solicite suggestions to improve (or "get more") traffic for this website.
I am puzzled as to why more people don't come these forums, because I feel it is quite good. I feel I am doing my part to participate and lend assistance, but if there is anything more I can do, don't hesitate to ask. tn

What's always been interesting about this site is there are clearly a lot of readers if not so many posters, given the number of views on various threads, and a lot of members. But we often seem to have more voyeurs than participants.

I don't claim to have heard them all on any topic, but I do have a collection of "quotes about quotations" - there used to be a quotation on the front page of the site pulled randomly from this. As an example here's an archive of the main page from 2000:
http://web.archive.org/web/200011182259 ... index.html
I believe I'm going to pull those into my main collection and use them as the first of what will be many quotes organized by topic.
thenostromo: You've got a good point, this forum hasn't ever been as busy as others, and the site at large gets tons of traffic. I've always assumed this is because it's the newest area of the site, but there are probably things I can do to increase traffic. I'm working on a couple.
