Phaedrus and Thenostromo go to great lengths to give us extra information on quotes in the various Forums such as

It is considered an Arab proverb but is often attributed to the Arthasastra a pre-fourth century Sanskrit text by Kautilya more known for its contents on politics and statecraft. But the book contains information and instructions about various other aspects of social life, including man's relationship with animals and plants. The saying appears to be a summary of some strategic advice given therein.

in answer to the query about "The enemy of my enemy....," today.

There have been so many more and it seems a dreadful waste that all these explanations etc. should get lost as it all moves down the archives. Unless you remember seeing them you don't even know you can look back to find them.

Please, mgm, is there any way that they can be added as an appendix to the quotes in the main body of the site?
